EXCELLENT Based on 298 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Bianca16 September 2026 Perfect Scottish Getaway This hotel has become my favorite place to stay in Scotland. This was my second visit here and I know I will be back. It is hard to describe the charm of the rooms and shared spaces. Beautifully decorated and yet the rooms still feel comfortable. The bar is a fun place to spend time anytime during the day and night. It seems popular with the locals as well. Most importantly, the staff is incredible! So helpful, kind and accommodating. This is truly a special place.Posted on Tripadvisor norman w30 August 2026 A great experience! We recently held our wedding party at this lovely, homely hotel. The rooms are all charming and individually themed, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Highly recommended!Posted on Tripadvisor Wendy P4 August 2026 I Love The Abbotsford! Incredible service, wonderful drinks. Just perfect. What more can I say? The barman - Jack - is exceptional in his people skills - again, just perfect. Great night, very enjoyable.Posted on Tripadvisor Samy R1 August 2026 Really Couldn't fault anything My friends recently got married and held their reception at the Abbotsford. After I read a bad review on google I was a little concerned, however all those fears were absolutely shattered. The Abbotsford was an absolute delight. Honestly I have nothing I could actually fault. We stayed in one of the rooms. It was beautiful, spacious and clean. The room has everything I needed and it was very comfortable. The staff were so helpful and friendly. From the girls on the reception to the guys behind the bar everyone was lovely. Special shoutouts to Mary who was helping us through the whole thing keeping everything ticking over. Franco, who set up everything so beautifully in the reception room. David for keeping everyone's glasses full and faces smiling. Francis, who was so delightfully helpful and was so kind. Really it was an absolute pleasure to stay with you and my friends wedding went ahead without any hitches thanks to the professionalism of all the staff within the Abbotsford. So would definitely recommend to anyone who is wishing to stay there or hold any large events. I hope to see you all again soon.Posted on Tripadvisor Olivia M23 July 2026 Beautiful boutique hotel This was a gorgeous little hotel that we had a short stay in of one night. Beware there is no lift, and our room was on the second floor. The room itself was fairly small but perfectly functional. Even with a cot in the room, there was enough room for one night. Beautifully decorated, bed comfortable. The star of the show was the breakfast. There was a self service cereal, pastries, fruit etc. and then could order from the menu for a cooked breakfast. The food was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly. We would stay here again if we were in the area.Posted on Tripadvisor Lynn L14 July 2026 Something out of the ordinary, well worth a visit! Lovely quiet area, beautiful hotel with pleasant helpful staff. We were able to choose from the different room styles, all of which appeared to be novel and different. We chose the Bagpipe room, which was well decorated in the theme with Scottish images on the wall and tartan curtains and throw. The bed was very comfortable, and the room allthough small had space for our visit. Tea / coffee tray with nice shortcake biscuits. There was only one chair and two stools. Wardrobe space good complete with iron and ironing board and a small chest of drawers. No safe or fridge. Bathroom had toilet wash hand basin and shower. Additional small cosmetic pot nice touch. Outlook was to the courtyard. Only small detraction was that it had times noisy pipes/ running water. Dinner menu choice was varied and our food was lovely and well presented. Breakfast was from the extensive menu, again very good and well presented. Only suggestion would be to have a small pot of tea instead of poured from a jug. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Really good stay thoroughly enjoyed it.
